Yes, please! If only for show and tell. Considering my Ugartechea Jabali slug gun with 1 oz Brenneke's. Proven pig deadly inside 75 yards.

We may need a good double for following wounded wild boars into the thick stuff! Nah. Colt Walker and a Randall knife...

I will bring it as it is a fun piece to shoot. After an azzload of research (and multiple failures with domestic basic slugs regulating) I learned that they were regulated to the aforementioned 1 oz MP slug. Sure as dung it would place multiple pairs inside 2" at 50 yards. Sometimes, me being the factor, inside 1 1/2". The last hog drilled with it was at a friends ranch outside Camp Wood whereby my middle son and I noted him heading towards our ground blind (he was hunting whitetail, me for grins). The hog poked his nose in the air, scented us then burst straight away. All I saw was his azz heading away. I swung, yes a classic double, and fired as he crested a small rise. We waited a few minutes and went to find a 150'ish pound boar dead with a full diameter hole a bit right of his azzhole and the slug residing in his throat. My boy just said, "nice shot".

That's what I am talking about.
Go on, hold it in your hand abit. Your fingers will smell just like mine did after customs at O'Hell in Chick a goo last spring.
One of these days, I may even get to smoke one...
Nice setting - where is you at?

If I was a much younger man, I'd be tempted to try it this way.

That spear placement looks somewhat familiar. I bought a Jen-u-eyne Rook rifle. Now I have to figure out what to do with it...

That spear placement looks somewhat familiar. Who can we get to try it? It would have to be someone young enough and resilient enough to withstand a brutal pounding into the ground and still bounce back up again for another try.I bought a Jen-u-eyne Rook rifle. Now I have to figure out what to do with it... Well, shoot a rook, I guess. What kind of rook rifle?

And knows how to ride a horse?...hmmm... The RR is a small frame Martini, in .300 Rook. It should actually work on small deer, if I can contrive a flat pointed bullet for it.

Bullet dia is said to be .300. There is supposed to be a chamber cast coming with the rifle, but I will check it all out in detail before trying to load for it. You can actually buy bullets at Buffalo Arms, but they are classic round nosed small game slugs. With a flat point no reason it should not exceed the .25-20 in killing power.

Buffalo Arms is cool beans. They are about 10 miles from my place in Idaho. I wonder if the 115 gr PBFN .309" cast by Beartooth and run through a Lee bullet sizing die would work? I bet Lee would make you one to spec provided. I have used their bullet sizing dies, post lube, and they work like a champ. Just a thought.
On another note, I think I will be bringing my recently acquired Browning M53 .32-20 to next year's hunt. I need to play with the cast 32's I have for my Ruger Single Six's to see if they will feed. If not I suspect a 100 gr XTP would work.

http://www.buffaloarms.com/300_Rook_Cast_Bullets_it-800266.aspx?CAT=4136What I may try with this one is make a "nose flattener die" When I had a .45-70 Marlin it shot the 350gr Hornady RN well, but I wasn't crazy about using round nose bullets in a hard kicker's tubular magazine. I made a very simple die that held the bullet square, and then pressed a flat into the nose. I was trying to prevent a chainfire, but the technique might work to improve the bullet's lethality.

I did the same on the Hornady's with my Marlin 45-70 that I sold to Roger. I had the same thoughts for the BA slugs. Do they advise hardness?
