Every factory wtby I"ve had shot around MOA or just under.

Interesting I had one rebarreled with a custom tube, and its a solid 2 moa gun at best. Of course I caved and used a douglas and I"m 99% sure thats the issue, I"ve had 3 bad ones in a row and I"ll never do a douglas again.

I sold my last Weatherby last night. Accumark in .300 Wby Mag. Sad to see her go but she hadn't left the safe in years.

Of the 460 Spawn,the 378 connects the most dots.

Am enjoying the windage adjustable rears,as my 378Wby sheared Reupold S/S DD base fasteners...though it admittedly were shot more than a whole fhuqking bunch.

Those S/S fasteners were dog schit,but the 378 do buck a smidge...............

I've shot out just shy of a halfa dozen Custom 257Wby spouts and in less than halfa the time you cited. 100gr X's at 3750fps,being the mainstay.

Gots me some familiarity,with said chambering.(grin)

A .243" of far lesser case capacity,will soundly kick it's ass. Boolits matter more than headstamps.

Nothing in the WBY rifle line has ever gotten me excited. Always was a Ruger slut and now my Montana has me more than a little excited.

Cartridge wise - meh, I've known some shooters who swear by them, usually a generational thing. Grew up as kids seeing the ads or dad/grandpa had one back in the 50's...

Speed in interesting but now I'm more interested in how the bullet bucks the wind. Up/Down - dat's dialing. Reading the wind isn't easy - rather have slippery bullets at good speed than [bleep] bullets at warp speed. The harder you throw a beach ball the uglier the flight.

Don't know whether Randolph Scott owned Weatherby's......





but the Duke liked Weatherby's........
