There are so many rifles at need a deer season I'm going to have to start hunting out west again. Maybe this year the 38-55 will get it's chance in the late doe season.

I still have another Winchester that needs to blast a deer this year. I think I will buy another deer tag and try for it with this 32-40. It is a first year production gun in excellent condition...

Not a super-big Winchester collector, but here is a cull buck, dropped at 60 yards, with a M1907 in .351. 180gr Hawk bullets over 2400, in QCC cases. The rifle is from the first full year of production.

Those fork horns eat much better than trophies. On the other hand, I once bagged a really old mulie that obviously had not been herding a harem. He had up to three inches of tallow in places. He was tender and tasty. He fell to a SG .30 Gov't.

Best,

Jack

That's my cousin with her!

Btw, shot it one handed as she is still paralyzed in her left arm. Used a rest.

Thanks Tom! She's still down by the creek walking on water! LOL! I'll write more elsewhere as this was a BIG day for her. From us being told she had only hours to live in January to this!!!!

Killed this buck last Monday. Used a Winchester Featherweight 7x57 (Shot Show Special) with an old 4x Weaver. The bullet was a 160 gr Sierra GK,shot it at about 110 yds.
