Will the Hawkey stabilize a 75gr pill @ a 1:9? I have the chance to pick up an all weather Hawkeye for less that $500 and I think it sounds like a great deal, just hope 1:9 is ok. Construction-wise, I really prefer the Hawkeye to the RAR, but the 1:8 is nice

My Hawkeye shoots 65 grain SGKs, and 64 Nosler solid base well enough. Have not tried anything heavier.

I've shot 69 gr. sierra's thru my Hawkeye 223 rem and they stabilized just fine. Sorry, never tried the 75 grainers... As far as comparing the Hawkeye to the RAR: I'd buy the Hawkeye way before ever considering the RAR. To each his own though..

I mean to me 499 for the all weather Hawkeye seems like a great deal, it may not be but they don't even make them anymore

After Glass bedding and freefloating mine shot exceedingly well. Before that, It was a 1 1/2 moa rifle...
