I AM new to all of this, but I've logged on trying to learn.....
my goal is to shoot a deer one day. This is a good time of year to do so. Very few hunters out right now. Travis

How loud is the safety, think it'd be an issue if the truck was just idling? Funniest thing I've read all day!

Hard to see, but I thought the edge of the cheekpiece looked a bit "off". Like to see a pic of the whole thing.
A guy that works at a local gunsmith whittled out an outstanding stock for his own .218. Absoulutely a first-class job. He sent it off to be checkered by some lady in PA, who also did beautiful work.
Sweet little rifles.

Holy cow MtnBoomer that stock looks amazing. I don't mind the stock of my new Mini Action, but it does seem like it ought to be a little more streamlined. You could go into business with mini action owners, and I'd be first in line!

That depends on how well the truck is tuned. A rough idling truck is definitely an impediment to accuracy, but so is having a lardass passenger squirming around while you're trying to squeeze off a shot.
Any road hunter worth a damn will make the shot regardless of motor, make, model, or year. Travis I blew the pizz out of my drivers side mirror on my '79 CJ-5 trying to whack a nice rooster pheasant with my Remington M34 many, many years ago. Yeah illegal and out of season to boot but what a 16 year old did back then. I kilt him with the second shot dropped him off at Noni's and she waspleased as can be.

The next excuse to buy another gun is going to be....."it's for the puppy".
No way wife will be able to argue against that.
My canine friend does NOT like the blast from a cab fired 243 so it only makes sense to get something that burns way less powder.
I was looking last night and see Weatherby makes a #3 contoured 22" 223. Other than the techno stock it's look pretty ube.
Went on Howa's site and couldn't find Flaves new mini.
