Can any tell me if these are a pushfeed or controled model? Think I have a lead on one at a good price. Part of me feel like its a sin to own a pushfeed Winchester.
Anyone thoughts or knowledge ofthese particular rifles appreciated..

PF's are sleepers. I've got a standard weight '69 that shoots like a mofo.

My dad has one in a 30-06. They are PF but dang nice rifles. His is very accurate too, given the barrel contour. I saw an unfired .280 at a gun show this summer. Sincerely wish I would have had the cash on me at the time.
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

The M-70 light weights were built at a time in the 80's when Winchesters quality was superb. Go for it, you will be glad you did.

My 1993 M70 Stainless pushfeed is a very nice rifle and it feeds and functions flawlessly.

Like everyone else said, grab it. I'm have pre-64 and Classics too, but I really like some of the PF guns. I have recently picked up PF Featherweights in 257R, .280, and a Winlight in .27. I grabbed a custom in 7/08 this week. All are great shooters and were bought at government d prices.

I have one of these "crap" push feed Winlites in 30-06 (factory McMillan stock) in stainless. With selected handloads it shoots 0.7-0.8" and most anything under 1.5". I think they are every bit the rifle a 700 of the same era is. Snag it if you can get it for a good price

The Lightweight was made from mid 80's - early 90's. They are push feed Featherweights with a different stock design. Fine rifles.

I owned a Model 70 Lightweight 1985 30-06. I sold it when I was on a trip to be able to buy probably my favorite rifle. Selling that Lightweight Model 70 30-06 was I admit a mistake. It functioned flawlessly, was about my single lightest field rifle and was extremely accurate!

I have one in 7X57, that was made for the European market. The barrel has sights on it. Darn good shooting little rifle. It's one of those rifles I just never shoot anymore, that deserves to be taken hunting.

I've got a couple of them, a .243 and a .260 built off a .308. The .243 is a Lightweight Carbine with a 20" barrel, it's not my most accurate but probably my favorite gun.
What would Porter Rockwell do?
