I just saw a pic of Cooper's new Lightweight centerfire rifle on their FB page that they claim will weigh at 6 lbs. I asked them about the stock they were using and they said it was theirs made in-house. It was pretty cool lookin ...

I just ordered a 54 excaliber in 257 Roberts. Green stock with black webbing, satin blued action with bolt knob knurled, stainless fluted 22" barrel. Will mount a Swarovski Z# 3x9 on it in Talley lightwieghts when it arrives. Now for the 4 to 8 month wait........

Found what I wanted without an order...
Good luck to those ordering. I'm very, very impressed with what I see. Had in hand for 2 days. Summed up...wow.

I ordered a custom classic .30-06 directly from Cooper awhile back. I wanted a few custom options, including full-length bedding. I was in direct contact with the custom shop. It was an enjoyable process; there were a couple of minor glitches, but those were cheerfully resolved. I even got to talk with the checkerer of my stock, who answered the phone on one of my calls. Cooper didn't charge me extra for the full-length bedding and will now do it on request. I finally have a rifle that is perfect (to me). I've also dealt with Dakota and Winchester (back in the old days in New Haven). There is no comparison; Cooper was a far better experience. The custom M70 lefty I got from Win was garbage. Dakota gave me the run-around and never started my rifle after promises for almost a year. I cancelled in disgust. I'm saving for another Cooper now. Bob

I got bit by the 6.5 bug and wanted an accurate rifle. So I bid on a nice Excaliber . Shoots lights out, I'm very pleased.

I'd be ordering another if they could get the ball rolling on lefty composite stocks. Cooper blames it on Bell & Carlson, and they blame it on Cooper. But, bottom line is, Cooper has not made the initial request and investment, so we get screwed.
It's a shame Cooper hasn't figured out that they'd likely sell a lot more of those things if they'd put a fiberglass stock on the rifle that wasn't like holding a cow's leg. Spot on.
