Thank you. I may still have that Weaver base but would have to look in my Big Box Of Assorted Gun Stuff to verify. The rings are standard Weaver lows and were probably used for some other purpose after being removed from this rifle.
Even if I can't find it that mount combo is pretty ubiquitous and very inexpensive.
This will go to funbroker, uh, gunbroker, tomorrow.

Is it factory drilled for scope mount? If not, do you have the mount shown in the pics? Also, is that the original front sight?
No offense intended, but your questions are answered in the original post... None taken but it did not specifically say that it's factory drilled. Just looking to clarify.

Looking at it again I see the description could be ambiguous, but yes, it is definitely factory drilled and tapped. They started doing that AFAIK sometime during the year before which would be 1954, and then went to Micro-Groove rifling a couple of years later. So this to my mind is the best of both - factory D&T and Ballard rifling.
Btw, I'm not an expert reference on this as that 1954 date was deduced from looking at a bunch of these models for months when I was first searching for this one. Waffle tops not drilled and tapped seemed to stop in 1954.

It was really good, heavy duty 1950's plastic, not this cheap plastic of today...
