Not simple to me.
I would communicate my demands for my vote to the candidate in the position to need my votes.
If that candidate doesn't capitulate to my demands, I won't vote for that person.
If that results in an adverse result, due to the actions of other voters electing an incompetent, then I'll suffer the consequences.
But I'll suffer them as a free and independent person that wouldn't buckle to popular demand.
And if that results in the gov't coming after me, for my guns, or whatever, I'll die the best I can, and honestly.
Sounds kind of dark, and certainly its improbable, but I'll strive to preserve the power of my vote, or my vote no longer has any power. No offense, but thank God MO ain't a battleground state. Nope, MOtown never went for O'Buckwheat. He never even campaigned here.

I personally like the man, given the competition grant you, and plan to vote for him.
Politicians and politics is a dirty business. None of us like it, but it is the way it is.
