A new favorite picked up from Whittaker's. Marlin XS7 stainless 7mm-08 with Leupold VX-2 3x9x40. Really enjoyed carrying this rifle. Will probably change the scope to a 6x36.

Nice setup...I heard those Marlin's are real shooters.

You get extra style points for the John Jobson book. grin

Yes the Marlin has shot well with everything I have fed it.

Thanks it is a great read. In honor of Jobson I post a picture of a new toy. A 270 win of course

This thread wouldn't be near as interesting if everyone just posted one. I don't hunt with just one. I'll carry a different rifle nearly every time I go. Some get picked more often than others, but I like to use a variety during the season.

P.S. I did get an antelope last year with the Tikka in .223.

MojoHand;
Good morning and Happy Easter to you sir, I trust this finds you well on this slightly soggy Sunday.

You sir have eclectic tastes in your long arms! cool

As a Canuck I've always had a soft spot for LE rifles of all numbers and marks, but the Jungle Carbine is an all time favorite of mine. Oh, the No. 1's are of course very fine as well. smile

To my cyber friend Sam I'll send thanks for the thread and the intriguing answers it's produced.

A couple from me would look like this Sam, but they've been seen previously so apologies for that in advance.

A commercial Mauser roll marked military type 98 action, a .270 barrel in the photo, but now it's a 6.5x55, Wildcat Composites stock, Timney trigger, FN extractor, Wolffe mainspring, Beuhler Safety and some other stuff added to that.

Ruger Liberty 77 tanger with a .308 Norma chambered Parker Hale barrel and in a stock I made up from a Richard's blank.

Thanks again to all who've showed up at the thread and Happy Easter to you all.

Dwayne

George,
That mini mauser is amazing.
Please share the details on that?

I'd have to look up precise details but James Anderson of Newell, SD built it off of one of those cheap Zastavia mini-Mausers as I mentioned. He previously worked for Dakota Arms and is a real artisan and a very nice gentleman. The furniture is AAA Walnut.

The scope is a Bushnell Elite Tactical and this winter this rig got it's work-out on coyotes.

Also, like a stock CZ 527 .204 if the snow allows me to get within 350 or so.

An older Kimber Classic in 7mm-08 that has taken 4 Whitetails to its credit. Recently had Adam Bentley of Dresden Gun Company rebarrel it to an 8T 243 and I decided to restock it. So this is my new Deer rifle.

Another rebarreled Kimber in 17 Rem. This time a Montana.
