For ordinary use I like thumb drives for specific things plus an external hard drive for everything. If the data really matters I store it in more than one place. Fire, theft, tornado, anything can happen. Cloud storage is a good fail-safe. I use Amazon because it's convenient for me but Google and others offer a good amount of free space. It can be accessed from anywhere and is virtually untouchable.

I was gratified to be able to answer promptly, and I did. I said I didn't know.

I'm curious about the SSD failures. I just installed one in my iMac.

wow, welcome to 2016 crazy

bring out the Rockchuck award for excellence laugh

been using those myself since about 2003 back when they only held about 64mb, before that, it was the old Smart Media cards. Have 1/2 dozen of them tossed into a drawer now. The hold a hell of lot more now, I leave work everyday with two on my keychain with about 7 years worth of geometric network data. But it's also back'd up too. On another thumbie in co worker's possession.

which since we're on the subject, stopped into small drug store in Cedar City, Utah to ask about 35mm film because my dad refuses to come to the 21st century. Dumb c u n t in there had no clue what camera film was. female, 20 years old.

The people on Watter's world are real I guess, they're on the fire too.
