I got the honor of meeting and talking to Ralph and his wife for about 20 minutes one time before a show here in Knoxville. I even got him to sign a Banjo head for me. His wife Jimmi was abit younger than him. She put me in the mind of Peg Bundy from married with children! <g>
The loss of a Great musician imo,... his political side, not so much.
Assuming a serious query, he was mostly known in bluegrass music circles. Within bluegrass, he was equivalent to what Johnny Cash was in country music circles.
I still don't, and probably won't look it up either.
Lot's of folks didn't (don't) agree with Woodie Guthrie's or Pete Seeger's political sides. Doesn't diminish the importance of their music.
Hope all is well with you there in TX,
Geno
