Now that's a truck. 226K miles in Texas is nothing, I have the same mileage on my 7.3 diesel, only I'm in the frozen north which is much harder on any truck / engine combo. If you're in or travel to western North Carolina, you might appreciate the 4 wheel drive. Fly in and drive it home.

I have a 2003 F150 supercrew 4x4. It has been great and super reliable. I replaced the spark plugs at the dealership at about 150k and that is the only major work I have had done on it. And the only work I have not done myself. It now has 225k on the 5.4l without any significant issues. I do not baby this truck at all and it has kept ticking. When it finally goes I will look around for a similar one with fewer miles. A really good one can be found here in norcal for under 8k. I am a ford guy but not a huge fan of the look/ride of the 2004 and newer F150s.

I'm no Ford fan either but I do like the 04 and up models and have considered them. The interiors seem nicer than comparables in other brands. I'm a little scared of plug and cam phaser issues with them though.
