Getting loaded up and headed north in the morning, I have bowling pins, orange target balls, and a couple of steel pistol targets, a steel pig, turkey, 10"x10" swing plate, for rifles like we had last year, and a hell of a big heavy box of Brass, will buy food some where along the way, will bring lots of bottled water and some soft drinks. Hope to see everyone in a couple of days. Rio7

Miles - thank you for this. Am thinking that, with your assist, we are now good with such equipment needs. I will be in camp to set up larger shelters and other aspects starting on Thursday afternoon sometime. Travel safe - see you soon.
Paul, and other that live and camp at high altitude, a question. When you cook pinto beans, can you just put a rock on the lid to give it some pressure? miles

Miles, up this high the rock can help a bit - maybe increase the AP by a smidge of merc. - but those in a hurry use a pressure cooker.
If 'yer in camp with only a rock, sitting 'yerself right down on the lid for about 30 minutes is probably the best bet. Knew a guy that made his fulsome wife set like that - beans came out great but they are now divorced.
Miles, Forget the Damn Beans! we are coming to N.M. for some
cool fresh mountain air, I will make you a ham sandwich.
I have the butt end of a Cooks Ham, that I am fixing to work on in just a few minutes. Make me a Ham steak. You can buy both ends of them cheap,as they cut the center into ham steaks and market them to restaurants and such. You can cut some decent ones that are not quite as pretty, and good pieces for a ham sandwich, and a bone for beans, all cheap. miles
Will be leaving tomorrow morning.. two days there...maybe til Tuesday if I dally...
went down to HoMo DePo and picked up some clothes line and some rope.... also the store and picked up some of our locally available beers for you NON Pacific Northwesterners to try if ya so desire...
Will check this out later to see if anything more than might be needed before I hit the highway.... there's a lot of nothingness between here and there and I don't do fancy mobil phones, or wifi on the road....
I do have a bucket of tent stakes etc, that I'll be bringing left over from my Boy Scout Troop's days....also someone let me know if larger camp pots might come in handy...
also have some big metal pans for washing dishes in, and also bringing a container of dinner ware that Wally World carries.... they are left over and unopened from another event the family took part in...
Extra camp chairs needed or are we good?

Miles for them evenings we have to do our own cooking, I can do elk spagetti, jambalaya, red beans and rice, whatever. Not like we gonna starve. We can do our usual pot luck stuff. That was good last year.
As far as beans go, hell, there's plenty of good cheap canned beans that are my mainstay!!! I'll prolly have several cans of Bush and several cans of charro beans available if needed.
Also bringing several jars of pig trotters for snackin' !!!! Mmmmmm!
