Have you ever been up there during the Allen & Co. conference? They shoe horn in so many private jets you could hardly walk through them. Big pile of money.....not sure what it brings to the local economy. One time while this conference was in session, I actually stopped on the highway and counted the business jets parked on both sides of the runway...about 75 of them. I can't fathom how much money was sitting there. They had just released the Batman movie that Schwarzenegger was in. He had his jet there, painted black with "Batman World Tour" in huge red letters down the side. Which allowed him to write the trip off as advertising.  They didn't get rich by not understanding the system. Class envy is even more dangerous than racism in this country. You want to be rich? Figure it out. With all it's issues America is still the land of opportunity and multi-millionaires are made, or started to be made, every day. Most efforts involve long term approaches and blood-sweat-tears. There are dicks and all income levels and for every rich one that feels entitled there is a poor one who feels entitled one. The things they are entitled to do often differ though. THIS in spades.

I'm sure most of the one percenters get up each morning and wonder, "How can I employ the most people and give them a meaningful life?" Just after they have that thought tucked away, they wonder, "How can I help our country best deal with all the issues facing it?" I'm sure. I once worked on a project where the owner of a construction company claimed to have built a bridge. BS! a dozen or less men worked ten to 18 hours a day, seven days a week,in hot, cold, rain, and snow to build that bridge and he wasn't one of them. The money didn't come from him either; it came from the taxpayers. In their off time the men wondered how they could deal with constantly being cheated on their pay checks. GD I had an uncle who made a lot of money. You know, the proverbial "rich uncle." Your first question, "How can I employ the most people and give them a meaningful life?" was his motivation. He felt since he could he was obligated to provide good paying jobs for his crews.

When young I had sense enough to know that it wasn't advisable to go ask a broke sumbeech for a job! After working several jobs by age 28 I started my own business and employed other folks like onto myself that had been looking for jobs. Those 1% folks you write about are responsible for creating a helluva lot of jobs and are due whatever they can compile for themselves and family!

Phil Not at it's current location. There isn't room to widen the runway. To land a plane as big as his, they have to move all of the planes parked down both sides and there's no place to move them to. It's a small airport. They've been talking for years about moving the airport but the cost is prohibitive.
