Thnx man, since I have 3 I agree w/you. I had another in 270 W but my youngest son has adopted it.

Of all the M Sixes made roughly 1/2 were in 30-06 and ONLY around 1000 were in 6mm Rem.

I don't know if you were involved in a thread in the Deer Hunting Forum but there was a lengthy thread entitled Deer Hunting & Pump Rifles. If interested do a search in that thread under that title and key word Mag Marc. There are @ 6 pages and a lot of pics.

Marc, SKane, Whelen Man, BobinNH and others participated. Unless I'm mistaken the totals and % of cartridges chambered in the M Six are in the latter pages.

There are 7600s, 14s and 141 pumps also pictured in that thread.

Thnx Again

Jerry

Yeah, I really do not see many Model Sixes around, now that ya mention it. A 6mm Rem would be a cool one.

Here is my 141 in 35 Rem. This and a Savage 99 takedown in 300 Savage were my first 2 centerfires. Of course the 141 is a takedown also.......

Humdinger -- correction there are 97 pages in that thread. I just bumped it up in Deer Hunting forum where the no.s and % are listed.

No pics, but picture, if you will, a well worn but mechanically tight Winchester M54. Crisp bore directed by a Lyman receiver sight, .30-30 chambering, with many tales of derring-do in Eastern Woodlands absorbed in its walnut stock.

I'm really partial to Rugers 77s. They just feel unbreakable. My favorite is a 338 Federal in a McSwirly with 2-7X Firedot.

For pure lookin' hard to beat a Dakota Model 10,a pre '64 M70, or one of the Cooper bolt guns.

Of course a nicely stocked #1 gives me wiggles.

I can't decide if I like the 223:

[Linked Image]

...the 30-06:

[Linked Image]

...the 358 Norma:

.... or the 375/350 better:

But they all seem rather similar somehow. wink
