My .480 Ruger SRH has accounted for a number of animals. I have a an Ultradot 30 mounted up top.

That is my "Taffin" gun.

The short version is that gunwriter John Taffin very graciously donated both the grip frame and the barrel for the project.

After a gun show in Boise one day at the fairgrounds, he invited me to the house and instructed me in how to swap grip frames. All in all a great guy.

The gun started at a 6.5" barrel, but I prefer the present length better.

Those M-34s always seemed pretty cool. I have always wished I picked one up when they were available at a much more reasonable price.

I have a no-dash 4" 63, but there is something visually appealing about those 2" blued guns.

Baer versus bunny:

Though I really prefer a longer barrel for a dedicated hunting gun, a 4" Model 29 packs easy and can do quite nicely when called upon.

I was on a motorcycle trip when these pics were taken, and the 4" 29 works pretty well for that role.

For post 6,000 it only seems appropriate that a .44 magnum be chosen.

I am a sucker for a TC though.
This yrs rig is a Super 14 in .35 rem w reddot.
My prev version had a rail scope and was not an easy open frame.
