Gotcha.

We called them "smoker vents."

They're not that old either. My Bronco was an '88 and still had them. But my kids they're cool as schit when they drive my 1980 Boyota.

We called them vent windows(ventilation). They were still on my '87 Toyota pickup. Was surprised and unhappy my 2000 model didn't have them.

On Chrysler products only as I recall.

How about using hot patches on the inner tube and a golden rod hand pump to air it up after you had 'fixed a flat" on the side of the road?

And Plymouth pickups?

And trailer hitches [often shop made] bolted on the rear bumper of your CAR.

When I was a wee LT, I carried the "brick" as duty officer but couldn't be more than 5(?) miles from base or it didn't work.

I haven't read the whole thread. Did anyone mention push button transmissions? Or three on the tree?

You mean the ones that sounded like they were rolling it over about twice as fast as every other maker??

I learned to drive with a three on the tree, '64 Chevy pickup, LWB stepside with a 283 ci v8, no power steering. After three on the tree, a four or five on the floor was easy by comparison.

Still this way in my family. And on the off chance you were going out for dinner, dad surveyed the family to see where everyone wanted to go then told you that you were going where he wanted. And I'm only 32. I do remember the RCA dog outside the store but we never had tubes in my time.

Oh, and don't tell dad that you know you're going to eat where he decides regardless of your personal opinion cause that will cause a never-ending fight. Once told dad "We're just gonna eat where you already decided so why are you asking our opinions like they matter?" Was like 29 when I did that and it's still a sore spot with him.

Same with my folks. I don't know how old I was when I learned that some people did it differently.

(I remember all of them. I am not only older than dirt, but I remember when it was dirt and not "soil".)
