We're fortunate to have a great Classic Country station here in the stix.... They even have call in classified hour every morning if ya want to buy or sell stuff and on Fridays they have different entertainers from the PNW drop in and play a few songs in the studio....good ol down home acoustic guitars and real harmonizing....
Only problem is it's AM so reception's sketchy during bad weather but it's free so I don't complain...
Listen to them every day in the tractor and the combine. Awesome station. The mighty KRLC 1350.

Not sure how to do it but, I think they stream 92.9 here from the Eastern Panhandle of Texas. You streamers might give it a listen. Good classic stuff.
All music changes in time (just like everything else changes). This change is no different whether it is hard rock, metal, classic rock, soul, R&B, Adult Contemporary or even classical musical for that matter.
Tastes may change, but music doesn't. Rock and Roll is still the same, classic country is still the same. For that matter, disco is still disco.
What changes is taste. Rap, hip-hop and country-pop is currently in vogue. I chuckle at the thought that 20 years from now, there will be a "classic hip=hop" station out there, and geezers like us complaining about the music the kids listen to.
None of that changes the fact that the artificial vanilla flavored pop-country ooze coming out of the radio these days is an insult to it's Country, Bluegrass and Western heritage.

Yea Buddy....Toe Tapping Tommy Tucker.....there's no one better....
On the weekends our 1 independent country station plays classic country and bluegrass. The rest of the time it is classic rock and talk for me. What is the deal it country now, every song is trying to convince how "country", the pop/rap singer is.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
Wifey says they play this on the radio. I won't say, cause I don't listen. If true, it's the only Country they'll get near.
Taste may change, but to me Country Music is always gonna have fiddles and steel guitars. The other stuff is just Pop sang while wearing a cowboy hat. Most people don't know the difference. 7mm
"Preserving the Constitution, fighting off the nibblers and chippers, even nibblers and chippers with good intentions, was once regarded by conservatives as the first duty of the citizen. It still is." Wesley Pruden
you won't hear any of the new country rap or hiphop..., but you will hear stuff that dates back all the way to the 1930s, and at times even earlier recordings...
They do all sorts of special weekly shows on "Early Roots of Country", Blue Grass Speicals " Into the Blue"...Cowboy Corner...Baxter Black...its endless of the fun and cool stuff..
Got it on constantly on the radio in the garage at my reload bench....
I've heard some really cool stuff on there also...
and example: Some of "George Thorogood's stuff".... 'like Move it ON Over, the Bad Dogs moving in'....not HIS VERSION, but the Original by "Brothers Maddox and Sister Rose"... from 1948
!
They play the originals of stuff you can be familiar with today, and even hear on rock & roll stations.... but they are playing the original songs by the original artists, from back in the 30s and 40s...
Plenty of Bob Wills, Baxter Black, early Johnny Cash....
Good stuff... nothing considered Traditional in today's world..
