Any recipes for a good bierock?

Gonna work some up. Some use cheese in theirs, some a dab of Dijon mustard. I'm thinking that a straight version used with a French dip would be tasty!

That sounds like a sandwich I had in a Nebraska fast food place called a Runza.

It's new to me too. I ran across the recipe in a conservation magazine and it looked easy enough and quite tasty. I googled and you-tubed it and found several variations. Names too, seems some think it's a German recipe and some give it Russian origins. Gonna give it whirl, can't seem to mess it up...

We make them individually using frozen Rhodes rolls. They turn out really well and our kids love them. We use half bacon and half ground meat, and no soup or cheese. Just a little different twist.

I've had these in Austria, but they had cabbage and carrots in them, too. Don't know for sure, but doubt those had venison in them.

They were tasty, though. Once I discovered them I was hooked and on the lookout for more.

Made these last night. Browned up some venison burger then drained off the liquid, added a bit of butter, added chopped onions, a bit of garlic, couple splashes of Worcester sauce, then thin short sliced cabbage. After the onions were cooked down I set that off the heat with a glass cover to steam while I prepped the rolls.

The rolls had been set out hours before to let them rise some. I used a roller to thin them out and shaped them into round disk. I then spooned a liberal portion of the meat mixture onto a roll and then added a roll on top to make it complete. It's a "Hot Pocket" when you're done. Add a bit of butter on the top roll then popped in the oven to bake the rolls fully, about 20 minutes, then out with a beautiful meat stuffed dinner roll. They turned out really well, very attractive to the eye and delicious. Easy to fix.

Over time I keep seeing some great meat filled breads/rolls.

Going to have to cook some up this week.
