Whoever took this picture should be a professional. Truly wonderful work. Both deer are nice but that whitetail is an absolute whopper! Dang. That whitetail is a monster. What a photo!

Here's a couple nice ones for when I'm sitting in the blind, 308 and 280rem M70 Featherweights. I like these for still hunting and stalking. Forbes model 24B 25-06, Nula model 24 and Kimber Montano model 84L both in 280ai. I'm looking for a Forbes, ULA/Nula in 7-08 if anyone knows of one, let me know please!

"Little Ugly", the super 8. VZ-24 action, added a Wisner safety and a Dayton Traister trigger. Had a milsurp Yugo 8x57 barrel that I picked up for $40, still in the cosmo. Sent it to ITD had it screwed together and the whole thing black parked. Barreled action went to McMillan for a Coyote Bomber stock. Wearing a Weaver Classic K4 in Leupold mounts and a Bandera sling. Love this rifle, there isn't anything that I would feel nervous about hunting with it. Good shooter with 200gr Hot Cors over 53.1gr CFE223. If I had to get down to one, this would be it. CowboyTim

Jerry Couple of reasons really. First, it's currently the only rifle I own that isn't wood/blued. Second, read an old article in "Rifle"(I think) a while back about Phil Shoemaker's "Ole Ugly" Mauser 98. I call mine "Little Ugly" because, as much as I like the 8x57 loaded to it's full potential, it's still no .458.

That is 1 of the McSwirls that I've seriously considered getting.
That 8m 200 bullet should do BAD things to critters.
Good luck

Tho I love my lever guns, I always seem to gravitate back to my 9.3x62 for serious stuff! I'm considering a new scope for the old girl!

Dang I love that thing; very, very cool.
How does the high-mounted scope work with the drop on that stock?

Shoots good! Killed elk, deer, hogs, and nilgai with that rifle/scope arrangement. Started out as 9.3x57. Slow day at the shop, coworker and I made it a 62. Husqvarna 146. Mfg in 1938. I know when I shoot something with it, it dies!
PS i did remove that ridiculous sporting clays pad!!

7 mm Rem Mag; Penrod metalwork, McMillan Legend stock. It would have been a better picture if I could have turned his head, but he was purt well stuck.
