My dear friend Bob died early this morning. He was surrounded by his family. He had been ill for some time. I am broken hearted. He was a good friend and always had time for a talk. My prayers are with his family. RIP Bob.

A big loss for the fire. He will be missed by many. Often I would open a thread when I saw he posted on it. Prayers to the family. RIP....

RIP
We will all miss his knowledge and support for our shooting projects. I too went to his post for the best information on the subject I was reading about. Prayers to his family.

In the old Precision Shooting, Dave Brennan used the term "We are diminished." Seems appropriate here.
Imagine your grave on a windy winter night. You've been dead for 70 years. It's been 50 since a visitor last paused at your tombstone..... Now explain why you're in a pissy mood today.

I'm glad to share a couple of pix that Bob sent me - before he posted pics. I posted these for him in a Deer hunting thread but I can't remember which one. He sent them in 2015 (?). I believe it was before his hunt with Skane (Scott) & Whelen Nut (Paul) in Kansas. Regardless these were killed in Maine 2014 OR 2015. I remember him saying he did not see a thing on his last hunt in Maine. The first one shows 5 TOADS they had killed. The second shows Bob (C) in the back of a truck. UNLESS I'm mistaken he killed the buck he was reaching toward. The pic turned out larger here than in my ph album. I'm glad.

Awesome pics guys. Along with his excellent writings, we have some cool pics to help remember Bob... He was a hell of a good guy.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I always liked Bob from the first day he showed up on our Forum. We shared a few PMs but never got to meet him.
I don't recall any disagreements with him as I was usually in agreement with what he had to write about experimenting with various calibers, and whitetail and muley hunting, possibly because of our similar age. I'm remembering telling him I liked and used the .270 and knew it was all the rifle I needed, but it was more exciting shooting 7 mags, he said "I know".
When it is my turn to pass I hope I can do it like him, keeping his capabilities up to the end rather than laying around having strokes or dimensia for years. Way to go Bob! You and yours are in my prayers and thanks for sharing with the forum.
