its a howa same as same as Stocky's sells the stock and there has to be someone local that will thread the barrel for 75 bucks?

I live in Iowa; it's basically impossible to find any variety in firearms in any one place.

If it left the factory with a stock that you can shoulder you cannot cut it down. They sold them with pistol grips with a longer barrel for an overall length of 26 inches. Now with that new type of grip you can shorten the barrel and still have 26 inches overall. You cannot put a stock on that firearm without lengthening the barrel to 18.5. Something like that, don't hold me to all of this anybody with more info please chime in. Denzel

Ruger used to be bad about press releasing new wares looong before they were available.
I have looked for a Howa Alpine at the local shops with no luck. I know I could order one though.
