Have you considered a 84L in 6.5x55??

Kimber would most likely never do this BUT a barreled action would be the shciiizzzle. I have a really nice Serengeti 3 piece laminate blank mannlicher length I'd like to work with. While I'm wishing make it a 21" barrel. I'm easy to please, not asking much.
edit: And with an 84L the throat could be plenty short and still have a long bullet seated to the base of the cartridge neck. Animals would die just from the rumor.

Well choot, do I get a commission on these early Svedish commits? Given the extended timeline for a new order when you don't even have the current one in I'd say I have enough time to save the dough. Guess I'm in if it works out.

Have you considered a 84L in 6.5x55?? It would have to be throated properly and I don’t know if Kimber would do that or not. The original 6.5x55 used really, really long 160 grain bullets so the original chamber had a very long throat. A short throat for modern mid-weight high BC bullets might not be usable with those longer bullets if anyone tried. My only complaint with an MRC 1999 in 6.5x55 is that long highway the bullet has to travel before hitting rifling. It’s still an accurate rifle but you can’t get 100-129 grain bullets near the throat and still have a decent amount of shank in the case neck. The 7mm Mauser had this same problem and some gun makers went ahead and shortened the throats anyway so it’s possible they could do it for a 6.5 Swede - the round does have panache.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I'm pretty excited to get this deal going. I think this could make a really nice speed goat rifle.

I'm going to need one too if the time frame comes together. Looks like another heart surgery coming up so low recoil is going to be on the menu next fall....

I like the Creedmoor, and indeed a 22 and 6 version are good rounds, but I've always advocated for fast twist rifles in common rounds like the 22/250 and 243, no reason not to do them. Rem goofed their 6.5-308 A-Square w/a 9 twist, though my old Sako shot bugholes, 9 ROT, not so w/my Rem. Sako always seem to shoot, like Tikka's.
