My local gun shop bought an old collection accumulation of guns and let me have one of the first shots at it. I picked out this Sako Riihimaki in 222 Remington. It had been neglected for what appeared to be a long time, but it cleaned up pretty good. It looked to me like it would make a great woods walking rifle.

First shots with Hornady 50gr V-Max had bullets key holing at 25 yards. I was a little disappointed and found that the twist is about 1 in 16 inches. So it was back to the store for a box of Remington 50gr PSP. These went into about an inch at 100yards and all went in point first, which is a good sign. So any heavy bullets will be out, as well as boat tails and probably any plastic tipped bullets. I never have owned a 222 Rem before and I think this one will be fun to work up some loads for.

Killer rifle....I'm green.

You might try some 40gr Sierra HP's....they'll generally shoot in about anything.

Good looking hawk, never seen that kind of tightly curved cutting edge. Very painful I'd imagine.

I wasn't happy with the exposure on that shot but had to run with it.

Only a retarded Texan couldn't find a fence post. Maybe balance it on your flat head next time.
