I have a Touareg V8. To this point in life, it is the best car I have ever owned.

My wife's other car is a 2016 Audi Q5 3.0 T with a supercharged six and an eight speed paddle shift transmission and it is about as much fun as her Porsche. Technology, year on year, in phenomenal without question. With the first oil change (included) I bought a maintenance plan through 65 K miles for $900. Done.
As noted, Porsche's are another matter. Time and materials on her Boxster for an oil change (annual or every 10 K miles) by me is 20 minutes (primarily awaiting the oil to drain) and $50 for filter (Amazon) and oil (Mobil One at Walmart). I change oil every two years as the miles are low. A lot of folks are frightened to do maintenance on the European import when, in fact, it ain't all that hard. An oil change on her Boxster is more work than the same on my Tundra...

Well, after several false starts I finally found my car and put a down payment on it to hold it, till I fly in next weekend to pick it up. This shopping on line, nationwide, is quite the experience. Had a 2010 Panamera Turbo located in Florida and dallied around too long before deciding to buy, and the car was sold right out from under my nose when I called back to the dealership to put a down payment on it to hold it til I could fly in and drive it home.
The next car I found was just outside Atlanta, a red 2010 4S that I "thought" was a turbo. I immediately put a $1000 down payment on it, until I discovered my mistake the next day and called to cancel the sale. Cost me $350 to get out of the deal.
The next one I found was a 2011 turbo in Huntsville AL. I drove over from a project I was visiting in Georgia to look at it and talk to the owner. I had called him a few days earlier, but he was a foreigner (Muslim sounding) who did not speak good English, but he swore his name was "John Berry." The advertised price and photos on the web site was so good, I decided to check it out personally. Well when I drove into the dealership and walked inside the office, there was a 30-something American man sitting at the desk and I asked if John Berry was there. He said no, but that he was at lunch and would be back shortly. I then asked him if they still had the Porsche Panamera Turbo for sale (because I had not seen it on their lot.) He told me they had never had a Panamera. I told him I spoke to John Berry the past weekend about the car. He said that John Berry was his dad, and he knew for a fact they had never had a Panamera on the lot. I started laughing and explained how someone had hacked their website and had a photo of the car with a "cash only" offer. He looked it up, and sure enough there it was. He told me this explained why people kept calling about a Lexus that they did not have on the lot, yet there was a photo of the car on their web site.
I finally found this car, a 2012 turbo with 18,000 miles. MSRP is $158,000, so It is well optioned and looks to be in perfect shape. I called the dealer the next day and made an offer. He told me two people had already come in that morning from out of town to look at and drive the car, and one decided to buy a 4S for less money. I put down my deposit and will fly in to drive it home next Saturday.
(If) when we pick it up I'll post another pic or two.
