Caps-Pens have always played clean. Ton of respect between the 2 teams and cities. Same with Redskins-Steelers!! Like sister teams all the way around.
Really sorry to see Crosby out. He does make for a much better match-up. Really sucks that Sheary locked up with his own teammate.
Hope neither is terminal.

I agree with Geno & byc, it's a long standing rivalry between 2 solid teams...nobody wants a player out of a career. I just don't believe this player intended to hurt Sid, he was just playing the game. I think the Pen's depth in talent will carry them thru the series, and others will step up and take the lead.

OTT down 0-4 at NYR, then get one back with a beauty of a pass from behind the net. I thought we were going for a Sharks style 7-0 blow-out by the Rangers, but perhaps the Sens can battle back like last game?

PS, at the NHL level I doubt there's many players wishing to seriously/permanently injure a fellow player as you may be traded to that team, both guys could end up 8 years down the road on the same team, or one of them might end up in the front office of a team you're gonna end up on. Tempers flare, after all, there's a bunch of testosterone out there, but I doubt there's any real "hate" going on.

great hockey though, its been a bang bang series. Both goalies have been lights-out. Great series.

The Caps simply can't beat Pittsburgh because they just aren't as good. Their only recourse is thug hockey like we saw last night. Taking out the opposition's stud player is their only chance. I don't think the hit was intentional, just a knee-jerk reflex action in defense of getting hit...they've played together before, no animosity was intended. It's hockey There was nothing either thuggish or dirty about the play that Crosby was hurt on & there really should not have even been a 5 minute major & the game DQ.................further evidenced by the fact that the league took no further action. Hockey is a contact sport despite what some may think & sometimes awkward hits or plays happen. MM
