Oh, they are phuqqin fancy....

270 belonged to my late uncle and is a '69 PF M70 that's had 9 different stocks on it over the years and lost count of scopes. Currently sitting in take off Tupperware, DD's shimmed with a kerosene can lid and one rear base using 8-40's because I stripped out a 6-48 using the base to "shape" the shim. Tapped it and ran. Scope is little brothers circa 1989 VXII 3x9 (is there any other scope??) it's a peach and put a NPT and 2 Fusions in the same hole a few weeks ago.

243 is a RAR that I stole from a guy that was bought from another guy that was hard up. Paid $250 then sold the scope he had on it for $100. Talleys and a 6x42. Shoots the fancy blue box 100's MOA.

Tikka is a standard "buy at the shop kinda rifle", kisses 75 Amax until I run out, and has a SWFA 10MQ sitting in my modified Talleys.

They are custom hard use rifles, with perfect ergos. The M70 required two fingers to pull the trigger until I found a 1/4" wrench.

A lot of give a schit, I have not young Jeti.

Grin.

I cut back some two years ago, when I wasn’t looking some more snuck back in. I caught the Creedmoor bug, it’s a fun cartridge to shoot. Plenty good pig killer. My granddaughter captured my first one, a Vanguard S2. Seems I’m always loading shells for her.

Hanco. You have a mess of rifles. I thought you were of the same mindset that I was. Now is the time to buy not sell.(especially blued finely walnut stocked underappreciated sporters from noobs)

I'll never be without a 22lr, so that's a given....

I can see me with just a 223, 6.5 Creedmoor and a 270. I may have multiples of each though...

I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

Particularly between the .243, the 25-06, and the .260...

I like rifles, when I quail hunted I had a couple dozen shotguns. Down to a couple of them. I have a half dozen pistols. There is just something about a rifle that I like. I can’t help myself. Is there a rifle junkie clinic?

I turned in my looney card so I won't embarrass the fine 24 HR members here. Also got vaccinated against Creedfever, though I have a spare 6x42 and Talleys sitting in the box. I think I'll hang them on the tree as ghosts of Christmas past....

Sensible.

Vaccination is only about 20% effective...

I scaled down myself:

Ruger 10/22 22LR
Tikka T3X 6.5 Creed
McWhorter 7mm08
Tikka 695 7mm Rem Magnificent
Marlin 336 30-30, which was the first rifle I ever owned, bought in 1971.

My problem is I like shooting. If I was down to a pair of centerfires I'd wear the barrels out in no time--then I would spend more money on a custom barrel than the cost of a nice used rifle, and have to wait for my curmudgeon, independent minded gunsmith to get around to putting a new barrel on..............

Besides, I sold a large portion of my rifles, now I've bought more. No vaccination or immune system can protect me--the looney virus does indeed mutate..........

I'm down to my 6.5 swedemoor, 223 8 twist Tikka and a 22lr

For me it all came down to priorities. I used the money to purchase more camping supplies and now instead of working over my next rifle I'm working my way over the next ridge. 😁

Congrats on a most sensible move!....I wish I could also get down to the rifles I really need, I have been struggling with this for years but when I sell a few off I end up buying a few more back again....Lol......Hb

Liquidating at the bottom of the market is nuts. Prices are severely depressed and a Democrat controlled White house, Senate and House is 3 years away. Buy every [bleep] gun you can get your hands on and sell when the panic starts again. AR's for $400.00! Dow's at $25,000 and ready to blow, so probably safest place to put money.
