This is the perfect scope.

I totally agree.

As far as the "cart before the horse", I once bought a .22 Magnum rifle because I found a box of cartridges in a car I bought........

I have an Leupold FX-II 4x33 on my Seven. It compliments the rifle nicely.

I own 9 vortex scopes. I’ve never had an issue with any of them, from the crossfire to the viper HSLR. Have you personally had some issues with some?

I've observed several friends at the range having issues with Diamondbacks, though not the particular model you've mentioned here. Never been stuck with one myself.

Behind the times, but my Model 7 243 was purchased for the vari-x2 3X9 it wore. Was going to put it on the 660 308.
Liked the Model 7 setup, so I just bought another vari-X2 for the 308.
Been that way 15 or more years.

I'm a fan of Leupold scopes.

I had a 1.5-5X on my last Remington Seven, a SS 7mm-08. It worked well for the area I was hunting at the time but I like a little more magnification in general.

For what you want to do .. a little longer range than my hunting offered .. I think you'd be hard pressed to do better than either a Leupold 6x36 or 2.5-8X.

Give us a call if this is of interest. If you prefer the Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 3-9x40mm - Mil Dot #115390 we have an open box unit as well for $299.99

Doug, did it you just recently have the Meopro in like a 3-9x40 on sale well within his price range?

The Vortex Razor 1.5-8X32 has better optics than the Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36,and a better reticle in the G4. Adjustments have worked for me for 2 years but they are mushy. Jury is out on dependability, but it is a set and forget scope.

If you budget is $500.00 then why settle for a diamondback? Nothing wrong with Vortex but why not a Vortex Razor HD LH in 1.5-8x32, these are fine little scopes.

I do plan on checking one out. A few people have recommended them so far. I just sold a rifle and the buyer didn’t want the scope on it. It’s a 3-9X40vortex crossfire ll, which I find very clear and crisp for some reason. I may just swap it out for a 4-12x40 DB I have on a ruger 77/22, or just Mount the crossfire until I can shop around and look at all the models being suggested.

I always buy some ammo first. I had a stockpile of both 223 and 22-250 that I bought on clearance. Found a 223 I liked first, so I guess I’ll sell the 300 rounds of 22-250.

Only had 200 rounds of 22 Mag when I got that one. Recently tripped over a pile of cci bulk packs that they were almost giving away....a lifetime supply, but I still need some 45 and 50 grain to try out

I think Vortex discontinued it. this is as cheap as I have seen but I haven't looked hard in a while.

Ya I dont necessarily need a light weight rifle but seems bad to let that scope waste away on a shelf.
