Thanks to all who posted on this thread. It was even more enjoyable than I thought it would be. I knew with such a great array of experience that it would be interesting as well as eye opening. It would be even more interesting to hear how many different cartridges folks have experimented in the different calibers some time.
I must admit a couple caught me completely off guard, the 6mm Lee Navy and the 276 Pedersen.
Thanks again for all your input.

In .277 a 270 Win is ok on deer size critters and varmints. Other than that the '06 and 375 H&H are all you need.

It is often asked what would your battery consist of with three, four, five or whatever number of rifles. I got to thinking what would be folks favorite cartridge be in a given caliber. Let's use the following calibers, an even dozen, and pick your favorite round for each. Either factory or wildcat, whichever is your choice. .224 K-Hornet .244 Nope .257 Bob .263 6.5x55 Swede .277 Nope .284 7X57 .308 .30-30 .323 Nope .338 Winchester .358 Winchester .366 Nope .375 H&H .416 Rigby .45 -70 .50 BMG
I am..........disturbed.
