The Benchmade Griptilians are good but I prefer Spyderco. It's hard to beat the PM2 or Manix, plus there are many premium steels to choose from. If you want to spend less, the LW Native, Delicas and Enduras are also good.

I have two Spyderco Native 5's in S35VN and it is a very good EDC. I also got a couple cheapo Rat 2's in D2, and that is a great value. I have a Tormek power wet stone - strop wheel, and it stays super sharp with just regular power stropping. In fact Flave gave the recommendation on the Rat.

"It,s an automatic and it's a piece of crap."
By automatic do you mean assisted opening? I have a Benchmade MINI-BARRAGE w/assisted opening blade that works great. I took the clip off the handle and it's a perfect fit in my Wrangler jeans watch pocket, easy to get out quick.

Mine's a Mini Nitrous Stryker. Simple drop point, no serrations, D2 steel, and G-10 scales.
I also carry an antique Queen Steel 3 blade Stockman with bone scales for delicate work.

Fine looking knife . As I said above I have Benchie automatic that's a POS but I'm not about to condemn an entire product like based on a sample of one.

That's a very nice knife. I picked up a Mini Crooked River from their custom shop recently and it's an absolute peach with G10 handles and 20 cv steel.

My EDC knife is a Kershaw Leek. The assisted opening is as fast as an automatic without the mechanical complications, it’s thin, light, stays sharp....doesn’t cost a bunch and is made in USA. If I had to cut my way in or out of crashed helicopters or silently take out sentries on a regular basis I’d probably get something else, but for what I use an EDC knife it’s just fine. Doesn’t cost a bunch to replace, either when I lose one or give one away.

While ZT is the schitz, they are a little big for my everyday carry use. I stumbled up this and it was some of the best money I ever spent. Carbon fiber scales, titanium frame, CPM-S35VN steel, smooth as silk flipper tab, and weighs next to nothing. Perfect size and profile. 20 bucks off your first order, so it is your for a C note. https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-ferrum-forge-gent-selectThey can't make them fast enough to keep them in stock.

Another vote for the Griptilians, both standard and mini. I've been carrying either one or the other for what seems about 15 years now. I abuse the schitt out of them and they just keep doing what a knife is supposed to do.

Went to an auction a few years ago and they guy that passed had a freighter load of those Saturday night gun and knife show Chinese knives. BIL and I bought a couple cases super cheap. Best investment ever. Throw about 6 of them in every glove box. Snap the tip off? Throw it in the trash and get a new one. Get dull and dont feel liek sharpening it? throw it in the trash and get a new one. Its like utility knife blades for pocket knives haha
