For those that have either stand and/or have tried both, which do you prefer? The Openshot is appealing because of the weight, 14 lbs., but the standing platform is 4" less than the Bushmaster, which weighs 18 pounds. The Openshot has the climbing stirrups, which I like on my Summit Broadhead, while the Bushmaster sold by Cabela's has the foot straps on the platform. If I go with the Openshot, am I going to be wishing that I had a longer standing platform?

Unless you're planning on hosting a square dance in your climber, I think you will be pleased with the Openshot (Yes, I own one).

I can like four less inches over four more pounds.

I bought the open shot last spring for the weight factor alone. I have several places that are a good ways from the truck. I have several climbers, but they are all heavy. I got tired of getting to my stand soaking wet with sweat. The open shot has a reasonable platform and weighs nothing. I'll know for sure in about a month if it was worth it.

I've got the Summit Broadhead, which has the same size platform as the Bushmaster, which is about 4 inches longer than the Openshot, so I am familiar with that platform. My concern with the Bushmaster is that there is not enough platform area to stand and turn to shoot at a shot to the rear. To me, 3 pounds extra (which is what the Summit site lists as the difference between the two) is not a lot extra to carry in order to have a bit more standing shooting room. I suppose it really amounts to a toss up.

I have the Openshot and it works great. No complaints.
