Or is it just a catchy phrase to scare the ignorant? I don’t see it in my top 1000 things the Pres should be addressing.

There's website where you can get the print plans to print everything from a glock frame, AR lower to a grenade launcher.

I'm sure there is something to it. Set up the reamers and go to town. There is currently no requirement in most States to NOT have a serial number or any identification on the finished receiver. It's my understanding the big issue in some areas is someone has set up a factory. They are putting out lowers with every intention of selling them to whoever shows up with cash. As usual, some a$$hole screws it up for everyone else. But, if Americans would get the services they pay for from the federal government, no one would want a "ghost gun". The maleficence of our government is the problem. They are defiantly not the solution.

There are used in a very very small percentage of crimes. It's just another term or narrative to scare gullible Americans.

the fact is, any competent machinist can pretty much make a functioning firearm from scratch. Plans and drawings are nice, but just having an example to copy works. The ability to stamp out the ability of Citizens to make guns sailed long ago.
This is just more smoke and mirrors, more govrnment optics and narrative.

I have a friend who bought partially finished Gen 3 Glock frames that he finished himself, then purchased aftermarket parts. No serial number and it’s perfectly legal.

I don’t understand what the big deal is myself… except that Big Brother doesn’t know he has THAT gun. Isn’t like they don’t know he has a bunch more…

I’d be interested to hear the stats on the number of crimes committed with these “ghost guns”. I’m sure it’s as overwhelmingly high a percentage as those committed with ARs… that is, so utterly minuscule as to be laughable.

Then it gives them a basis to go after state resident to resident private sales. IE " gunshow loop hole..
And then all other things they have clearly said over the past 5 decades they want to do about the " gun problem" to create their disarmed utopian compliant society..

Anything Liberal Socialist Democrats propose or do concerning firearms is with the ultimate goal of no private citizen firearm ownship.
Anything they say otherwise is pure bullschitt and we all know that.

And all that goes along with that and 36 states ready to ratify anything they want to do to the constitution.

I guess all the knife attacks are committed with ghost knives too. Anything sharp is suspect.

I propose they pass legislation requiring lawn mower blades in excess of "4 required to have serial numbers and duly registered too.

Gun laws in the United States allow for an individual to build a firearm for their own personal use and it does not require a serial number.

If you do this for the purposes of selling the firearms you are violating federal law and can be prosecuted. I should add the punishments can be quite severe.

So if you hear some dumb fugk railing on about a "ghost gun" tell them to pursue prosecution of those violating federal law instead of taking another right away from law abiding citizens. Or, beat them to death with a baseball bat and leave a note that says "No ghost gun used." LOL

It sure sounds scary, no? I'm sure the term was focus group tested before the media ushered it out for our consumption.

The recent increase in the number of mainstream news articles about ghost guns is part of the (((plan))) to get people to look favorably on Biden when his administration releases a rule classifying 80% lowers are firearms. I saw a clip of (((Schumer))) lying about how frequently they are used in crimes, an act which comes as naturally to him and his tribe as breathing.

When you read about Schumer’s “ghost gun” statistics he’s referring to firearms with etched out serial numbers.

Has nothing to do with a gun enthusiast building his own firearm for personal use.

I caught a blurb on the radio today on my way into work this morning about this. I suspect the major point they are trying to change is a definition of a firearm. To require a serial number and background check on every part and piece of a gun. Your barrel, upper, trigger, magazine, etc would require a background check.
