My dad (1920-1981) and my.mom (1921-2020) both talked quite about about the older radio programs. I never really experienced them. Myself (1950-), I can remember a TV in the house from a very young age. I've picked up a few radio shows over the years, but not like watching "Marshall Dillon"!
We did not get television until the mid-50s when I was about 5, but we never listened to the radio for entertainment prior to that. We must have been the only family in the country that didn't.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
Happily Trapped In the Past (Thanks, Joe)
Not only a less than minimally educated person, but stupid and out of touch as well.
As a kid, I could catch WBBM out of Schitcago at night on an old Zenith radio. Paladin, The Green Hornet, King and his Mountie, and Sergeant Friday. Good stuff.
I am only 49, those shows were long gone when I was born. WBBM played them on a nostalgic radio hour if I remember right. We didn’t have a tv, so that radio was pretty good. I preferred it to tv anyway, because like a book, I had pictures in my head of the characters and places, which I usually thought were better than the real ones once I saw them in a movie or picture.
Hey, "Dassa" I was able to get to the site but is there an App for the site, or can the site only be reached by bookmarking??
I don't know if there's an app. I just have several pages that I leave open for different shows I'm listening to. If you close the page, it starts over again at episode 1 of whatever show you were listening to. If you leave the page open, he remembers where you're at.
