Ugliest guns to me would be the “cowboy assault rifles” aka polymer stocked lever action rifles with pic rails. Something like this. California assault rifle.

Probably my SPS 700 in 223. The “bluing “ is but a wisp and it it wearing. It finally doesn’t sound like sand being cycled. About any 55 grain bullet and 25 gr of Benchmark shoots tiny little holes. Every now and then I think about a faster twist barrel but it shoots so good haven’t touched it.

I ruined it. Rem 660 I bought a Brown stock for in 89. Half fast bedded it. Green Tiger Hair to fill the mold lines and repair some issues, Bondo to kinda smooth things. Crappy job, but season was coming so it got Flat Black Rustoleum. Not ugly, just poorly done.
Life happened. About the Summer of 97 I tore it apart and started to make it right. Sanded the rough spots smooth.
Season was coming, so I put it together and hunted. Flat Black, green, brown, and that Sick Calf Shìt gray, pale pink color of bondo. It was the ugliest gun in any room it entered.
Few years ago it got sanded tight, and a Black Grit paint. All the stock hardware is Marind Corp Green. Looks good.
Kind miss Old Ugly. It had unusual character for a synthetic stock!

This is probably the ugliest gun I own. But the kids love to shoot it, so that makes it one of my favorites.

I've had more than a few ugly guns. Maybe the ugliest was a Rem 788 in .222. It had all the appeal of a pipe strapped to a fence post. But it was a dang good shooter. With Winchester factory ammo it would put five shots in a dime at 100 yards. Wish I still had it. My current ugly duckling is a Ruger P89. Ugly as sin, but maybe the most accurate 9 I've ever shot. That's shot at 25 yards off hand. Cleaning the P89 is a lesson in following instructions or else! My bud broke one down fir cleaning made one mistake in putting it together, couldn’t do it, took it to a gunsmith who couldn’t put his humpty dumpty back together again, and finally sent it Ruger who finally fixed it! I didn’t like the long trigger pull, and lots of sharp edges.

I didn’t like the long trigger pull, and lots of sharp edges. To tell the truth, I've never taken this gun apart besides taking the slide and barrel off. I have a Ruger Mark II Target that can give you fits trying to get it back together. I avoid it but eventually that dirty .22 blowback action gets too dirty to function.

Just 25 yards with one of those POS battery killing red dots on a $200 used Smith with gypo ammo.

I have a FIE single shot 12ga. Ugly as sin. Cheap.
It fits me well, and I could hit birds with it. Only one shot made me a better hunter.

My Gen4 G20. It handles holster wear better than the 329 and bring 16 rounds to a fight.

How 'bout this one ? Hi Point 40 I could drag this SOB behind the Lexus for 100 miles in the dirt Pick it up & will shoot where ya point it UFF! Admitting you own one of those is like admitting that you have a little dick or that your chili sucks. I have one in .45ACP, and it works fine, and I don't need to measure my manhood by the toys in my closet, like some seem to do....Lol, I have two, .45acp and 9mm, both are a blast to play with.

Mossberg bolt action 20 ga. I killed several wheelbarrows full of squirrels and rabbits and the occasional turkey with that thing.

My rainy day goose gun is a cut down Ithaca mag-10 with a rattle can camo finish.
It has never failed me.

Got a Mossberg 183 in dad's safe. 410, bolt action. Chunky wood stock and an old Marble's Poly-Choke on the end.
As plain and ugly as you can get - an aluminum baseball bat has more figure in the wood but it sluiced a PILE of rabbits as a kid.

It has never filed me. Did you customize it, or buy it. A cousin used to hunt turkey with one like that. Had the barrel swedged to recover it.
