Not interested in selling, just wondering about the value. It appears there are some big value (as far as I know) differences between XTR and non-XTR 101 Pigeons. Picked this up in the early 1980s new from the old Abercrombie and Fitch at Phipps in Buckhead, Atlanta. A&F got a few of these in and we were lucky to get one early before they all sold out. It’s unfired, new old stock with box, luggage case & papers. There is not a mark on it. Japan / East Alton, IL. This is not an XTR model. I believe the XTR 101 Pigeons came out after this one. Just wondering on the value. I don’t want to confuse or equate the value on this with an XTR if there is a difference. Are these non-XTR Pigeon 101’s worth more? Can’t really find any discussion threads on XTR vs non-XTR Pigeon 101 values. I think this model is fairly scarce considering it’s a straight, English stock Pigeon 101 Lightweight 28 gauge new old stock in the box with all the accoutrements. 28” Fixed chokes IC/M.

It's worth alot. More than I got lol Do not feel bad. If you do not mind 20ga 26" barrels Pistol grip stock there are Ted Williams 400s floating out there. Perfectly serviceable shotguns made for legendary Sears Roebuck Co. The non-Winchester branded guns from that Japanese Co. sold under Nikko name. These will cost more than Ted Williams 400.

That is a beautiful shotgun in a great hunting configuration. Wonder what it weighs? Many do not like an English stock on an O/U but I prefer them for ease of carry and handling. It certainly is a rare configuration as far as I know...never saw one before.

Is that built on a smaller frame suited for the 28?

There is one Winchester 101 worth seeking out even in 12ga. That would be European light weight gun. It has good handling and comes with appropriate for weight 70mm chambers and Winchoke/Std Invector system. The thin recoil pad, 70mm chambers and European proof marks give them away. Some can be found in USA w/o proof marks because Americans do not require gun proof. Naturally some of these could have been brought back from Japan by returning American soldiers.
