Winchester screwed up they should have designed a 25 WSM many of us thought and hoped Winchester would have made this a commercial cartridge and some rifles.

Own a grand total of two. Both in .25-Oh

First is a Weatherby MK V Ultra-Lightweight. Shoots NUTZ for accurate !!! Only couple whitetails I shot were with 100 grain TTSX and I was highly unimpressed with the quickness of the kill compared to a .30 cal 180 grain Grand Slam projectile placed similarly.

Other one is a gorgeous 700 BDL that I inherited and have never fired and likely never will.

Only have had a couple, both in 25-06, both in Ruger tang safety 77s with the 24 inch magnum weight barrel.
The first was sold in early '84 to help cover expenses with a brand new wife & daughter.

The second had the stock shortened two inches, a decelerator 1 inch pad added and gifted to a very petite 13 year old grand daughter.

I had a Remington 700 Classic 25-06 Rem., it was the 1990 Classic model. I traded it in for a '97 700 Classic in 280 Rem. I still have that one. Would love to find another 700 Classic 25-06.

There're a couple 25 Neidners hanging around at my place. One is a 77 tanger, the first factory built hunting rifle I ever bought. It's not going anywhere, nor will it modded in any way. The other is an Interarms Mark X. That one was a $200 pawn shop find that will probably be rebored or rebarreled to something else.

No because they’re called “quarter bores”. .243 is the groove diameter, the bore diameter on a 6mm is .237”. The bore diameter on a 257 is…wait for it… .250” laugh

Had a couple over the years, 257 Wby Mag, 250-300 Savage (3 of em), Savage 10 257 Roberts, but currently only have a Ruger 77 in 257 Roberts (1989) in the safe. Absolutely loves 110 gr Nosler accubonds. Probably be a few more to come. Love quarter bore... and really love 22s.

I have Remington 700 Classic in 250 Savage. I have had a Remington 700 in 257 Roberts, Ruger 1V in 25-06 Remington, and a Savage 16 in 250 Savage. I should have kept the Savage 16 in 250 Savage.

This thread is encouraging, since I am trying to properly feed and enjoy the .250 Savage, a .257 AI and a 25-284.

my 257 Creedmoor Brux barrel really shoots well , i also have a 257 Roberts with a brux barrel that shoots well both are 8 twist barrels. it appears 8 twist is a good choice for the Quarter bore rifle ?

I adjusted the trigger on bud’s M-70, 25 WSSM. What a nice little rifle.

I’m not much on WSSM’s but loved the way that little rifle handled. Bud has plenty of brass and supplies, which would be my concern.

I was asking how well it fed rounds, he said just fine and accurate.

The factory cut checkering looked sorta raw. I added Tru-Oil to the checkering, worked it over with a tooth brush, wiped away the excess. It sure did make it look better. He was pleased.

My 25WSSM is a Cooper Varmint Extreme so it's a single shot rifle. I've only used it for praire dogs but for once was smart enough to buy about 1000 cases so I have a lifetime supply[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc] [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]anonymous photo hosting
