Bought a Labradar 2 months ago. Bummer. Looks like someone is going to get a great deal on my Labradar cause I just ordered the Garmin.

I won't be trading my LabRadar in any time soon. I love it! It's never missed a 17 caliber bullet from my CZ527 in 17 Hornet which may be due to it being more precisely aimed with a red dot sight mounted on top. Although it's a pain, you can add data from different times together with the Excel spreadsheet data summary. Currently I'm keeping my 22-250 and Swift below 4,000fps, so the velocity limitation hasn't been a problem.

This has finally convinced me to retire my nearly 40 year old Oehler 33.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

Yep, my ballistic pendulum is getting a little long in the tooth as well. On a more serious note, my Model 35 is about 25 years old, never saw the need to replace it but this one from Garmin checks too many boxes. Might wait a while just to see what the longer term reviews are like but for sure this is the first chronograph in the last two decades that has really piqued my interest.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

This packaging and technology is getting impressive for that kind of price.
Now with even more aplomb

Am I the only one who is reluctant to buy into a first year product, especially electronics ? Hopefully these units are the ticket cause they sure look like they answer lots of problems normally associated with chronographs. Since the early 80’s I’ve been using a Oehler 35 that was used but it’s 100% accurate and repeatable after you get out and set the screens correctly. But I used to go to the SHOT Shows regularly and bought my share of products at the show’s great prices. ‘ New & Improved ‘ gizmos like the PACT Pro chrnograph with built in printer. Three seasons, three trips to Texas for repairs and finally the trash. Printer failed first season, then the rubber faced keys would stick like a cheap keyboard, two months later it came back and they hit me for my shipping costs to them. Finally the clear plastic keyboard weather cover or membrane started to crack and water got in. PACT wouldn’t help said it got wet well no kidding their weather proof cover failed ! They sent it back telling me it was unrepairable. Then it was digital scale that would only work plugged in but not with 9V batteries soon it wouldn’t calibrate, to the trash as it was “ abused “ said Lyman and finally electronic hearing muffs that started making static noises then one of the rubber ear cups fell off. From now on I’ll let others do the testing with their dollars

I think Garmin will crush the competition with this.
Garmin has excellent engineers, and their marketing is superb.
