Watched a bunch of this guy's videos before I tried and did some reading, instead of jumping in head first and wasting a bunch of material learning blind on my own.

Roger,

What did you think of that little sander?

I was considering buying the same model.

I never cut my nails, they just wear off, when I'm laying carpet I need those nails to pick up and hold 1/2 inch 5/8s concrete nails when I'm putting down tack strip.

Looks serviceable! I like it. Whatcha gonna do for a sheath? Leather working is a very enjoyable hobby.

I buy blanks from knifekits.com, add scales, and make sheaths. It sure cures the winter boredom.

I used to make or modify all kinds of stuff. Flies, fishing rods, guns, household stuff... Then I realized that there are guys who did it MUCH better than I could.

looks good to me. a real art to getting the steel just right for sharpening and holding an edge.. I played with some knife making but never really got into it much or not a great job with any certain one. but I can respect the amount of time one can put in making handmade knives and the expense they are to buy one..
