I have a like new savage model 12 22-250 heavy barrel accutrigger that I picked up off the used rack a few years ago. It still has the stickers on it but no box. One sticker on the stock says cabelas exclusive. It doesn't look like it's even anomalies?
I know these didn't sell for much back in the day but it seems like they've brought decent money on gunbroker the last few years. I've seen some go for around $800. Are they actually worth that or was that just some gunbroker anomolies?
I'd like to put this one up for sale. I don't want to list it crazy high but don't want to leave money on the table. What's a fair value?
Maybe this one would be better on gunbroker but I'm trying to give someone a better deal without all the fees and taxes.

The 12FV is a Cabela's exclusive. I've bought them for $319.99. For the longest time, they were $419.99. Now they are $429.99. When they go on sale around Christmas time, you can generally get a $100.00 off coupon. Good solid rifles, that tend to shoot well.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

My father has 2 and they are fun to play with and accurate. $800 seems optimistic and gunbroker pricing if that is truly what is being paid
I personally wouldn’t pay much more than $400. That is just me.

I think this one is probably better off on gunbroker.

Everyone was buying them for the top release actions and selling off the parts.

Everyone was buying them for the top release actions and selling off the parts. That was the biggest draw to those rifles. Plus they tend to shoot real well. They do need a little work most times though, as they really need bedding. Those stocks are pretty flimsy. If the OP thinks he can sell it for more than new ($429.99 at Cabela's) on Gunbroker, then maybe he should list it there.

The Savage 12V with the laminated stock sure is expensive when you can find them

I bought the exact same rifle as your's at Cabela's several years ago when they were around 400 bucks new out the door. Haven't seen any of those "loss-leaders" advertised in that chambering in a long time; not sure those dealer specials are even still available, and certainly not at those pre-greedflation dollar amounts (however, there recently is/was a guy over on Accurate Shooter selling FV actions for a reasonable price.) Personally, if selling, I would want at least $500 out of my .22-250 FV, because it's relatively-rare 12-twist barrel will stabilize the 53 grain V-Max bullet, and it's proven to be accurate; nothing I could replace it with today for what I have in it.

I hear people saying you can get a new one for around $400 so I asked cabelas. They said they still show that online but that they haven't had any for 3-4 years. I'm tempted to shoot it because it actually looks like a pretty nice rifle for a savage. However I have an older rem 700 vssf or whatever the stainless sender looking one was. The Remington hasn't been shot much but it is incredibly accurate. I don't use it much so odds of me using the savage aren't good. I think I'll throw it on gunbroker and just let the market decide. I'd guess it's new if it didn't have Leopold bases on it. Somebody must have had a scope on it at one point but never took the stickers off the rifle. Bb
