We started ours early this year. Found a secluded spot in S Fla, amazing since it’s crowded as fugh around here.

I am kicking around two ideas

Either South Dakota or Ft. Walton/Pensacola area.

We already have a week in late July for our nearby musical festival[camping].

The Florida would work well as we could do later in late summer/early fall.

Not sure what SD would be like in late Sept?

We're remodeling the kitchen. Stripped to the drywall, new everything. This will eat up any vacation budget for this year. We'll just be doing some local camping in the driveway as we use the camp trailer for a kitchen.

Went to Maui in January, going to Monticello and St George Utah in May to do some hiking around the area.

Should be a good time..........

May is perfect..St George will be getting warm by then..I don't frequent that area at all

Monticello is much higher as you probably know...hikers dream in that area...Bears Ears

Along with the over looked 'Natural Bridges' NM area

Be sure to drive Hwy 95 & 12....Snow capped Henry's & La Sals will be picture perfect

Depending on timing of course as we guide hunts spring and fall before dropping into Talkeetna for the tourist fishing season

Plenty of back country sections in all the NP's you mentioned

What ya driving ? High clearance 4x4 ?

Canyonlands 'Horseshoe Canyon' is an amazing 7+ mile hike

Very easy access from Hwy 24...although its 22 miles from the pavement

Drifting sand is sometimes an issue...

Damn that looks awesome!
Not sure I could get there with loose sand, driving a RAM 1500 4x4.
I will definitely check it out.

Copenhagen for ten days in July, that will cover my summer holiday, Wash DC in August for business (actually one of my favorite places to visit, historic, great food, but I much prefer to visit in cooler weather!). Park City UT in March for family wedding, Kansas in April to see the in-laws and visit the farm.

Dunno exactly, I’m like you and don’t do any of the NPs during touron season. I used to live in S Utah before things were crazy like they are today and the crowds totally ruin it. Probably go find some Pdogs to murder, spend some time fishing in ID. Wife wants to go on an Alaska cruise but I think I have her talked out of it until at least fall. We go to the Rat Fink Reunion car show every year in June there in Manti.

Going to Valley of Fire this weekend.
