Something that may need to be said is those duratouch stocks get gummy. I know some guys will strip them, and paint them etc, but they are not worth my time. So, when I see one of these rifles, I always consider what a stock is going to cost me. Even if I replace it with a cheap tupperware stock. The rifle shown, even with the stock that goes gummy, will generally bring $800+, though. I'd personally check completed sales on gunbroker, to get a better estimate on true value though. The stainless versions are much more desirable than the blued version. Good luck with it..

I’m sure you can find them that low if you shop at the stores bsa shops at. But they will bring $700-$800 anywhere else.
I know where one was sitting for yrs for $350
A lot of dummies let that one sit.
Sounds like the like new 325 WSM extreme weather I saw in Oregon for $600.00 a couple years ago. I damned near bought it at that price, but had no use for a 325.. I agree though, one of these rifles at $350.00 is a no brainer. He must live in a weird part of the US?? I don't think a rifle like that would stick around for a day, at the gunshops I visit.

Winchester/Browning would fix the duratouch for free, just had to mail it to them. Came after a class action lawsuit. I sent a shotgun in and it came back in great condition.

Maybe the window closed on this?
That may be something to look into. However, If I were a betting man, I'd assume they would basically tell you to go and pound sand. I could be wrong though??? Keeping in mind, these rifles were made in the early 2000's (pre 2007). Before Browning took over the model 70 production in 2008.

I just stripped my Dura Touch stock and had Tarjac redip. Easier than shipping a whole gun.
The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!
There were black shadows (all black, push feed, std and mag calibers - 270, 30-06, 7mm Rem, 300 win mag, etc), Super Shadows (std/magnums/WSM/WSSM with CRPF actions - controlled round push feed), and Ultimate Shadows (stainless and blued, std/magnum/WSM with Controlled Round Feed actions). Black and Super Shadow stocks didn’t have the rubberized overlays on the grip and forearm like the Ultimate Shadows,

Sounds like a good option. The stocks really aren't that bad, until they go gummy. They are actually pretty light too. If dipping them isn't too costly, that would be a great option.
