About forty years ago a man I know had a hobby of buying old WW2 era rifles at gun shows and cleaning them up, developing loads and shooting them. He would sell one that was now a shooter and buy another neglected one.

And then the BATF&E told him he was a dealer and get a license or go to jail.
No consideration for cost of supplies or components, just being at gun shows.

From what I saw this new PR blitz has a new term. Unlicensed Dealers. Along with assault weapons and the gun show loophole our children and democracy are unsafe.

They are setting up a system of disarming and punishing people. Later they can target who they want, to manipulate political ends

A federal agency tasked with enforcing regulations on implements that the constitution specifically forbids the gov't from regulating in the first place. That cat should have been put back in the bag a long time ago.

These S.O.B.'s are also going thru the list of small gundealers and gunsmith that are mostly repair shop and might sell 3 or 4 guns a year and claiming the guy isn't doing enough sales, to be a dealer, just a hobby , not making a profit from, his work therefore should not be allowed to have a license, and shutting them down also . I think the end game is to make sure only the biggest dealers can still be in business, making it easier for them to get control of who has what when it comes time to shut everything down

The same way they enforce the rule now: pick someone every so often and make an example of him. Shoot him, shoot his children, shoot his dog, burn their house down, etc.

100% enforcement isn’t needed. You let this rule go into effect for a bit then send an agent to a gun show or flea market or similar. Agent buys a gun from someone who isn’t licensed without running NICS. The next day a team raids that person for violating the rule, kills the guy and his dog, and the ATF has their (((media friends))) publish a feel good story about it.

That has the effect of reducing the number of people willing to do private sales. Maybe wait a year or two and kill a buyer the same way. 10 years from now private sales are nearly dead and they advance some other notion of how criminals are getting guns and run it through that same playbook.

Overton window sliding and as long they keep their ranks stocked with sociopaths it is easy to do.
