I found the very first year Kentucky hunting license in a bunch of old papers in the attic of a garage that was my old home place. It was bought on auction in the 1960's with everything in it from the estate of an old man born in the 1880s. when you find something like that, it is a connection to the past and makes you realize they were just like us in most ways.

That’s pretty awesome… Somewhat similar but I heard that on the Swiss issued K-31 rifles the owner would sometimes keep his personnel info in the same place.. I removed the buttplate from mine and lo and behold found this She never made it past the bedroom door, what was she aiming for...? She's gone shootin..
