I recently sent a an old gloss AO scope in. Anything to do with the AO can not be repaired anymore. Zero parts available for that. Make that will not be repaired anymore. I have an A.O. scope that has problems not related to the A.O. and got the Starkist tuna line: "Sorry Charlie...." Good shootin' -Al

Have had excellent results from zeiss v4’s lately May go in that direction Probably a wise decision, over anything Leupold.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

How curious- January, sent in a gloss VX11 ultra-light 3-9x 33/AO for cleaning. After 15 years of ownership, adjustments dragged (surprise!). Instructed do not replace. Got it back seven weeks later. Cleaned, lubed, springs and windage turret replaced. Sent in for cleaning only, I suspect a little heat and exercising of the turrets and it would have been good. Nice little scope, sat on a low mileage Miroku Winchester 52 repro since both were new.

Those AO Leupolds were not very durable. I eventually broke all 5 of mine. The last one was a 3.5-10 Vari- X III. The reticle fell out of it! I really liked it in my rimfire they promised me that they could fix it and not replace it. I got the same email. I told them to put it back together and send it to me, i would find a 3rd party to fix it. They had already disposed of it. They sent me a VX5 to replace it which i traded off.

Cleaned and serviced you'll be ok. The one I have has a tube issue. I can correct it myself and make it serviceble but it would have been nice to have a new tube per the lifetime warranty.

Some of the bad luck or more likely poor products are amazing to me as far as AO Leupold's go. I'd have to dig pretty deep to get the count on the AO model Leupold's I own but I'm thinking it would be somewhere near 20. Yea I'm an old guy.
I have 8X, 10X, 12X, 3-9. 3.5-10, 4-12. 4.5-14, 16X, 6-18, and 6.5-20's and have had issues with a grand total of 1 due to the AO. These scopes are used primarily on varminters for prairie dogs but many of them are used on hunting rifles.
I also own a 3-9 Leupold compact that has had a turret turned on it 3 times. The first time when I first sighted in the rifle, and the second time to adjust for a new barrel, 3rd time to adjust to a new bullet. This i scope is on a 7 Lb 2oz 30-338 that has been from the US to Mexico, to Africa multiple times.
I have had my issues with Leupold and that seems to continue. But only 1 attributed to the AO.
Hell of a business plan to just walk away from a product just to get you into a different product that doesn't really fix the real problem. TRACKING

Well to clarify My issue was with the clarity of the glass It was just hazy A/o wasn’t even the issue But for what it’s worth They swapped me out for a vx3 hd 3.5-10x50 cds illuminated huntplex reticle for an even swap I really can’t complain to much
