A much better chance I'll hold my nose and vote for McCain now instead of a 3rd party. I wish she were the top of the ticket though.

I see her as the closest to "one of us" that it could be. She shoots, hunts, fishes, is conservative, and hasn't been ruined by washington. A woman like Palin is a breath of fresh air for a conservative guy like myself.

If, indeed, Ms Palin is the VP pick, McCain pulled off a coup. With what little I've been able to glean from the internet about her, she appears to be a decent pick - quite conservative - pro-life, pro-gun, NRA Life member, not ethically challenged, a "hockey mom" of 5 (youngest born April '08 with Down's Syndrome), sportswoman and very easy to look at. We will learn much more about her in the coming hours and days.

Palin is a great choice and much a much needed shot in the arm for the Republican party. She is a true conservative.

Washing outsider, conservative chops, young and female. Addresses a lot of the complaints about McCain. And not a long history in government to attack (Contrast with Biden). If you think about it, it's McCain vs Biden and Obama vs Palin. And Palin actually has governing experience, unlike the other three.
