Ironeagle,
WAAAAAYYYYY cool cartridge display there, bud! Lovin it.
I find beauty, but different kinds, in several different cartridges. My .257WBY loads with MOly'ed 100gr TTSX's look like speed and death personified to me, and they in truth really are all that. My big honkin 416 Rigby rounds topped with blunt, solid bronze Barnes Banded solid flat nose 400gr bullets also look like, and also are, pure business and dealers of much death. Same, but to different degree's, my 22-250AI rounds.
Cool looking but from a different viewpoint are the rounds for my Win model 71 .348 Winchester.
Common cartridges (.270, 30/06....) are just that... common.
Agree completely that the WSM's and SAUM's are buttugly inside and out. I hope they go away soon.
LOVE God, LOVE your family, LOVE your country, LIKE guns and sports.

I really like the looks of some Winchester Black Talon .300 WinMags I have squirreled away. Black bullet, nickle case.
This is a shooting forum, there is no place here for logic.

For a cartridge of beauty, look no farther than a 250 Savage AI with an 87 grain Speer TNT seated in it. That defines good looks. At the other end of the spectrum is the 45-70 which I think defines fugly...

I slept on it. I have decided that the .32-20 is uglier than a night in jail, also.

9.3x72R.
If you've never seen one, think of a brass ball-point pen with a rim and a round-nosed lead bullet.

I think the 30-06 is quite nice looking, but then I believe form follows function.

The .350 Remington Magnum is an ugly bugger.

Any WSM or WSSM;they look like circus freaks. Dangit! You owe me a new keyboard. I just spewwed soda all over it reading that. Personally I think the .30-30, the .30-06 and the .270 look like long-necked freaks. They just don't seem proportional. I like the way the .300 savage and any of the shorter AI cartridges look. They look like powerful rounds in a small package. I also love the long, graceful look of many of the 6.5mm cartridges with the longer bullets sticking out. 6.5 Jap, 6.5x53R, 6.5x54, 6.5x55... Any of those. Especially with a 160 grain round nosed bullet. -Mb
