I hear good things about the 168A-Max/168TSX melding in such contraptions.

I searched high and low for a stainless donor, but didn't have much luck turning one up. Will probably have it coated sometime down the road to offer a bit more weather resistance, but we'll see.

Rusty/crusty actions do not skew CBS POI.

You must remember that not all of us are fortunate enough to wade fish with guns straped to our back......-grin-.
I shure would be easier and cheaper if Remington would put out more of those Gander Mountain guns.

They sure feel right! I need to do a homemade trigger job and get out and burn powder! Snowed eight freak'n inches here yesterday, so I gotta wait for it to dry out a bit.

The heart of a rifle is it's bore and S/S there is paramount in my World.
Or chrome-lined,which I wish was more widespread.

yup ... Ti take-off (ADL) stock, remmy 700 short action (preferrably stainless), and either a Ti contour bbl ... you CAN go MR contour, which is very close, but the Ti contour is preferred ... How is the TI contour different?

I'll not put on a barrel that's not ss. Why would I when rebarreling anyway?
A CM action don't bother me none, but our play grounds are very, very different to say the least...

What's the preferred bullet for the 7-08 - for all-around big gaming, deer, elk, black bear, etc??
Any suggestions on a handload recipe?

As an interesting aside.
31" Toyo M/T's will bolt to an unlifted '08 Taco TRD. Off to the races, with fresh skins.
Did Jeff DilldO ever share her tag stew recipe?!!?

Am not. I've a turret now. Maybe I'll figure out how to use it, maybe not.

As far as I can see, the barrel contours of the original/old 700 Ti and the 700 MR appear to be the same. My 2 700 faux TIs; matte finished ADL Youth SAs, Williams TGs, TI/MR barrels in 260 and 308, and TI stocks went together without any BC work, at least that is the way I remember it.
The 700 LSS-MR stock is my favorite factory handle. I wish that Remington had used it as the pattern for the 7, 673, and 700 TI, as I like the pistol grip's geometry better than the more open 673 and 700 TI style, and I don't really care for the big schnable on the 7's forearm and the lack of a cheekpiece.
