Next, the 208 Amax at 2600 fps, a load documented by MontanaMarine (Shane). Show me one place MM has listed 2600 fps. Then show me where somebody's doing it loaded to 2.8'' OAL. Your still pulling numbers out of your a$$ that don't exist.

Its kinda like watching a Lee24 thread now....Its just sad...
Actually not kinda like, its completely like a Lee24 thread. Was thinking the same thing as well. Makes the optics forum look like a love fest.

As I said 40+ pages ago, I can't believe this is still going on.
What may be even more disturbing is that after almost 100 pages, an informative conversation was on about the Rem Ti and Montucky, next thing you know JO is back reitterating his limricks.
Now JO before you start with me, I am not a fan of TryMe/BigStick as I have gone back and forth with him in the last couple of weeks in another thread, I do though respect his experience and knowledge but his delivery is open for improvement, but as an observer and someone who has read through this soap opera, you've lost it. Now I'm not referring to the arguement, I'm referring to your state of mind and to what level you've come down to in this thread.
I would just let it die.
Question for TryMe,
On the photo of the Ti, what is the red material on the back of the bolt, I assume its to keep water and mud out?

Looks like a Callahan or PTG firing pin assembly to me (red anodized bolt shroud). yes, it's a Callahan ... he replaced the factory J-Lock firing pin assy with the Callahan when he got the rifle. According to the conversations I've had with TryMe, replacing that piece, and tweaking the trigger are the ONLY things he's done to modify that rifle... Basically, he's running it bone stock, with no special bedding or anything else ... and like he said already, it will shoot as well or better than just about any of his hunting rifles ... Couple that, with the fact that he dotes on 7mm projectiles, and you see why he loves that rig so much ...

Is that the best route to replace the stock pin assembly with the Jlock?

Greeny ... most any of the replacement firing pin assy's you'll find thru Midway, Brownell's, etc. will be fine ... Callahan, Tubb, Gre-Tan, etc... I think Callahan's "run of the mill" replacement is only like $40-$45, and is well worth it ...
I've never tried one of the "speed lock" versions, which are supposed to have an even faster lock time, but Remington's rifles already have one of, if not the fastest lock time, so it's really no sweat to stay with a 'standard' model ...
either way, get rid of the cock-block assy, as it's nothing but a mess - so much of a mess, Remmy doesn't even make them anymore ...

some of us are just eating popcorn, drinking a beer, and enjoying the show ... (grin)
Like I've said before, it's hard to buy this kind of entertainment, much less get it for free ...

Some of us have a morbid fascination with such things and won't even bother trying to look away . I came for the basic info., was hooked by the entertainment value, and stayed the course due to the pics being hung. Hey Jeff, you gonna post some pics of things killed via your JBM .308 load? George

JO has Stick in the mud with him. They both are 'laffin' and '<G>ing'. A good many of us like to watch. Rick Bin's site gets a nice boost in traffic. Win/win/win/win.
