I thought of going gold or blue. Gold was too blingish, blue will scare away the animals. I read that somewhere, must be true.

First centerfire rifle I ever fired was a savage lever-action .308. My grandfather got drunk and sold it, the prick. I do like my little 7-08 - perfect for a girl or small child.

I know jack [bleep], but have been told the aluminum pins suck. Where do you get a titanium pin?

I thought Pacific Tool and Gauge made the pins for Gretan? Not sure, but I have a couple of the PTG units and they don't suck.

Next, the 208 Amax at 2600 fps, a load documented by MontanaMarine (Shane). Show me one place MM has listed 2600 fps. Then show me where somebody's doing it loaded to 2.8'' OAL. Your still pulling numbers out of your a$$ that don't exist. Oh jds44... come out and plaaaaay! Since my handle is being tossed in the ring, I'll add some clarity.
Here's some of my findings with the 308, with 208 AMax, and 210 Berger. These results span three different barrel lengths (same factory VS barrel, but cut twice)
26" bbl:
210 Berger, WW brass, moly, 2.9" oal 48gr W760, 2500 fps 49gr W760, 2550 fps 50gr W760, 2600 fps
22" bbl:
208 AMax, WW brass, moly, 3.0" oal (that poly tip makes it longer than the 210 Berger) 49gr W760, 2530 fps 50gr W750, 2580 fps 44.5gr RL15, 2480 fps 45.0gr RL15, 2520 fps
20.5" bbl:
208 AMax, WW brass, moly, 3.0" oal 49gr W760, 2500 fps 50gr W760, 2550 fps
There are some magazine options for the Rem 700 SA that will accomodate 3.0"+ oal, but my factory box max's out at 2.825", and I typically stay around 2.81" max if I intend to run them from the magazine.
These charges of W760 won't compress enough to get the oal into the magazine without deforming the bullet. The RL15 loads will work at mag length. That's in WW brass that is fireformed and only neck-sized.
The CENTER will hold.

Learn to read - no matter how you cut it 2.8 does not equal 2.9

Not to mention the 2.9 OAL is for a different bullet... as well as the 2600fps obtained. Just sayin'...

I'm waiting for the boss to get home and go from there Bob.
You ol' dog! Nice snag on the Bob, Bob!
I shot Bob again early this morning, zero wind.
Eight 115 grain Ballistic Tips went around 4-5" at 400 yards. 44.5 grains of H4350 is the ticket, makes about 2900fps.
